Chelsea leading the race for Dortmund striker

A new report has revealed Chelsea are leading the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Youssoufa Moukoko in the January transfer window.

There are speculations that Chelsea manager Graham Potter will get the chance to bolster his squad by signing new players.

The Times reported that Chelsea want to sign Moukoko, but the player wants to be assured that he would get regular game time if he moves to Stamford Bridge.

Dortmund are also keen on keeping him and are set to offer him a new deal worth, while Manchester United and Liverpool also have eyes on him.

Speaking on Moukoko, GiveMeSport journalist Ben Jacob said Dortmund are still desperate for the striker to sign a new deal.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport: Chelsea are the frontrunners at the moment and he fits their mould absolutely perfectly.

“I think that is why they’re very seriously entertaining that particular signing and we know from Moukoko’s agent that he hasn’t yet and isn’t close to signing a new deal at Dortmund.

This is a very interesting scenario because, from Dortmund’s point of view, they’ll want him to sign in January and that will rule out a January move.”
