Chelsea Launch €30m Bid for Juventus Defender as Cucurella Replacement Search Intensifies

Chelsea have reportedly intensified their pursuit of Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso, with the Blues said to be preparing a formal offer as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

The west London club are in the market for a versatile full-back following Marc Cucurella’s reported €55 million move to Real Madrid. Cambiaso has emerged as one of Chelsea’s leading defensive targets, with the club viewing him as a player capable of filling multiple roles across the back line.

The 26-year-old joined Juventus from Genoa in 2022, initially on loan before completing a permanent transfer a year later. Since then, he has established himself as an important member of the Serie A giants’ squad, making 132 appearances in all competitions, including 47 outings during the 2025/26 campaign.

Primarily a left-back, Cambiaso is also comfortable operating as a right-back or further forward on the wing, making him an attractive option for Chelsea as they seek greater tactical flexibility.

According to reports in Italy, Chelsea are preparing an opening bid worth €25 million, with an additional €5 million in performance-related add-ons. The proposed package would represent the club’s first concrete move for the Italian international as they attempt to secure one of their priority summer targets.

There has also been speculation surrounding the possibility of Chelsea including striker Nicolas Jackson in a potential deal, although no agreement involving the Senegal international has been confirmed.

With Chelsea eager to reinforce their defence and Juventus assessing their options, negotiations could gather pace in the coming weeks. Whether the initial offer will be enough to convince the Italian club remains to be seen, but Chelsea appear determined to test Juventus’ resolve before the transfer window closes.
