Chelsea join Tottenham, Man Utd in race for Nice’s star

As the transfer window commences, Chelsea are looking to make a new addition to their squad.

This comes as recent reports revealed the Blues are set to compete with Premier League clubs Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur for the signing of Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.

The report via the Foot Mercato revealed Chelsea are in talks with Todibo over the possibility of bringing him to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are said to be unsatisfied with their current crop of defenders in manager Mauricio Pochettino’s team and are keen on making some new changes.

Todibo has long been tipped to switch to the Premier League having established himself as one of the best young centre-backs in the French Ligue 1.

Last summer, Man United were linked with the Frenchman but a deal never materialised after they failed to offload Harry Maguire.

However, he remains one of their target players.

Also, in December it was reported that Tottenham are in talks with Nice over signing Todibo, as their manager Ange Postecoglou is keen on signing a new centre-back as Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are both injured.
