Chelsea join Man City in race for Juventus midfielder
With a few days left to the end of the January transfer window, Chelsea have been reported to the latest club to join the race to sign Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz.
The Blues join another Premier League side Manchester City who are said to have also asked about the availability of the Brazilian.
Recall that Man City’s poor form this season continued on Wednesday night when they suffered a 4-2 defeat to French giants Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, a result that marked their impending exit the European tournament.
The are also performing woefully in the Premier League as they are at the 5th spot, with 12 points behind league-leaders Liverpool.
To solve their problems, Man City are said to be planning to spend significantly this transfer window, with forward Omar Marmoush likely to follow in the footsteps of defender Abdukodir Khusanov and sign for the club.
However, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claimed that the Blues could beat Man City’s plans to sign Juventus midfielder Luiz on loan, though the Italian side are reportedly not ready to agree to a temporary exit.
We would have to wait to see if Man City or Chelsea will sign the midfielder before the window closes in a matter of days.
