Chelsea have been handed the latest injury boost in the person of Reece James.

This comes as James is expected to return to the Blues team in time for their FIFA Club World Cup campaign, according to The Athletic.

James has been out of the Blues squad owing to a hamstring injury for the last few weeks and has been unable to play any game yet for Chelsea in 2022.

He is, however, expected to return to action during the FIFA Club World Cup next month.

The last time James played for Chelsea was during their 1-1 draw against Brighton at Stamford Bridge on December 29.

And he has gone on to miss a total of seven games, including the Blues 1-0 loss to Manchester City, draws to Liverpool and Brighton in the Premier League.

The reports revealed that the England international began doing individual drills last week as he works on his fitness at the club’s base in Cobham.

There are speculations that he has been earmarked to rejoin training with the group in under a fortnight.
