Chelsea have been handed an injury boost in Noni Madueke ahead of their next match vs West Ham United.

Recall that the winger picked up an injury during the Blues US tour and did not feature in pre-season.

He was an unused sub during the Blues’ opening match vs Liverpool last weekend.

However, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino in a pre-match statement on Friday revealed Madueke could play some part at the London Stadium this weekend.

‘He is much better,’ confirmed Pochettino.

‘He was involved in the Liverpool game, but we wanted to avoid because it was too early to take a risk with him, but now he was training really well during the week.

‘He is going to be involved against West Ham and maybe with the possibility to play.’

Madueke’s return comes at a time when they will be without their captain Reece James who is on the sideline owing to injury.
