Chelsea genuinely interested in this defender – Fabrizio Romano gives update

Chelsea are working on signing a new defender for their newly appointed manager Enzo Maresca ahead of next season.

With Thiago Silva gone, the Blues are need of a capable player to replace the Brazilian who was sensational during his four seasons at Stamford Bridge.

Silva has since returned to Brazil and the Blues have so far brought in a new defender by signing of Tosin Adarabioyo.

However, there are speculations that  Chelsea have an eye for another defender as they have added Aaron Anselmino to their list of potential signings.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a recent statement claimed that there is genuine interest from the Blues in the signing.

He, however, said that they are yet to submit a formal bid for to sign him.

The Argentinian centre back Anselmino was born in 2005 and currently plays for Boca Juniors.

According to reports in Argentina, Chelsea are in the race and also aware of conditions of the deal to sign him.

The Blues are currently monitoring him among many talents for the future. It is yet to be known if they will move for him this summer or wait for another transfer window.
