Chelsea forward tells club he wants to leave

Chelsea forward and Germany International Kai Havertz is now keen on leaving the club this summer.

This comes as Havertz is said to have informed the club hierarchy of his desire to leave Stamford Bridge despite manager Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival.

The Guardian reported that Havertz has told Chelsea chiefs he wants to move on for a fresh challenge.

Havertz is reluctant to see if Pochettino’s arrival at Chelsea will improve his fortunes or not.

It is no news that the German is one of the Blues players that have been tipped to leave this summer as Chelsea plan to trim down their squad.

Havertz was one of the most exciting talents in Europe when Blues signed him in a deal worth £72million from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020, but the 23-year-old form has not been stable at the club.

He has scored only 32 goals in 139 matches for Chelsea so far.

Havertz has, however, been linked with moves to Spanish giant Real Madrid who want him as a replacement for Karim Benzema.
