Chelsea eye Bayer Leverkusen defender
Chelsea are bracing up ahead of the January transfer window and are already looking out for players they could sign.
The Blues have been linked with moves for Bayer Leverkusen defensive sensation Jeremie Frimpong, who they are keeping an eye on.
While Chelsea have spent a fortune on players in previous transfer windows, bringing in young players, manager Enzo Maresca, however, is still not satisfied with the options that he has in some areas of the pitch.
Maresca wants more depth and quality in a few areas and is determined to bring in a new top-level right-back.
A report via TBR has revealed the London club are closely monitoring Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong.
While Frimpong didn’t impress during his time at Manchester City, he managed to return on track at Celtic and hasn’t looked back since signing for German club Leverkusen at the start of 2021.
The 23-year-old Dutchman seems to have taken his game to another level under manager of Xabi Alonso.
Frimpong impressed for the German side last season as they ended Bayern Munich’s dominance in the Bundesliga and won the league title without losing a game all season.
His performance has seen several clubs in Europe including Chelsea showing interest in him.
