Chelsea defender reveals his main priority with the Blues
Chelsea defender Toni Rudiger has insisted that staying at Stamford Bridge remains his number one priority.
Toni Rudiger’s career at Chelsea looked like one that would be coming to an end some months ago when he failed to nail a place in Frank Lampard’s team.
However, the sacking of the former Chelsea midfielder has brought a new era for Rudiger who has been able to impress Thomas Tuchel.
Rudiger has thrived under the former Paris Saint-Germain manager and he has opened up on his desire to extend his contract.
The Germany international stated that even
at the beginning of the season when things didn’t go his way, he was always calm, like he is now.
Rudiger pinpointed that at the end of the day he cannot give himself a contract so that’s why he have to wait to see what happens.
According to the defender, whatever happens, he loves being at Chelsea, so Chelsea will always be his priority number one.
Rudiger added that everyone, including himself and the club, knows how much he like Chelsea, so it’s down to the people who make these types of decisions.
However, at the moment for him it’s to concentrate on important matches and targets as the rest, he believes will resolve.
Rudiger’s current deal with Chelsea will not run out until 2022 and he will be eager to impress to get a new deal.
