Chelsea defender and Germany International Antonio Rudiger has affirmed that he is happy at Stamford Bridge.

This comes amidst rumours of his possible transfer away from the club in the next summer transfer window.

Rudiger’s current contract with the Blues will lapse at the end of this season, and so far, no agreement has been reached between the German player’s agent and the club.

He has, however, been linked with a likely transfer to top European clubs like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Man City and Liverpool, who are monitoring the situation at Stamford Bridge.

Rudiger said to The Guardian: “The most important thing is that I feel happy at Chelsea. I think if people look at it, they can see I’m happy.”

The German defender also opened up on the discussions ongoing about a new deal at Chelsea.

Rudiger said, “About the contract situation, I talk with the club. This is for nobody’s ears. It was how I said it would be after the Euros – there would be talks.

“There was a talk between Marina [Granovskaia] and my agent. We have the situation where we are at now and I have nothing to do with all the speculation.

“This is not in my mind. I’m focused on what I’m doing because this is why I wake up every morning.”
