Chelsea are said to be close to landing their first signing of the summer transfer window as an announcement could be made in the coming days.

Since Mauricio Pochettino took over as their new manager, he had inform the club’s hierarchy he wants them to sign a new striker, midfielder and goalkeeper.

Signing a new striker is crucial for Chelsea especially with Kai Havertz likely to leave and the jury out on if Romelu Lukaku should be accepted to return to Stamford Bridge from Inter Milan this summer.

The Standard reported that Chelsea hope to complete a deal for Nicolas Jackson in the coming days.

The 21-year-old Villarreal star impressed with his fine form at the end of this La Liga season, scoring nine goals in the last eight league matches.

Aside from Chelsea, the likes of AC Milan and Aston Villa are also interested in signing him.

However, Jackson wants to play in the Premier League, which gives the Blues an edge on which they must act quickly to sign him.
