The latest reports have claimed that Chelsea have been offered an opportunity to sign Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest, who is one of their targets this summer as part of a deal for Marcos Alonso.

While Alonso enjoyed playing chances under manager Thomas Tuchel, last season where he scored four goals and created five assists in 28 Premier League games, it was believed to be possible because of Ben Chilwell’s lengthy layoff.

There are beliefs that Alonso will see his game time reduced when Chilwell resume next season.

Alonso is entering the final 12 months of his Stamford Bridge contract, but he has been linked with a move to Barcelona who are pushing hard to sign him in the summer window.

According to 90Min, Chelsea are ready to let Alonso leave for Camp Nou and could receive 21-year-old USA international Dest in the exchange.

Dest created three assists in 31 appearances for Xavi’s side in all tournaments during the 2021-22 season but only started 17 La Liga matches amid injury problems and competition from Dani Alves.

The report added that Dest’s versatility would also appeal to the Blues given his stints on the left-hand side of the defence, but Emerson Palmeiri will likely be given the chance to revive his Chelsea career this summer.
