With Chelsea unable to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona this summer, their race for a new striker has intensified as the end of their transfer window draws closer.

A report via the Independent UK revealed Chelsea are now considering a late move for Crystal Palace striker Wilfred Zaha.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is keen on improving his attacking line ahead of the transfer deadline.

This comes as they allowed two of their strikers Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner leave for former clubs Inter Milan and Red Bull Leipzig respectively this summer.

With the close of the summer deadline, Tuchel is now keen to lure Zaha to Stamford Bridge.

The reports revealed that Crystal Palace have so far resisted selling the Ivory Coast international to a Premier League rival, previously placing an £80milllion price tag on the 29-year-old.

However, with Zaha now having less than a year left on his contract, Palace may decide to cash in on the winger now rather than allow him to leave on a free transfer next summer.
