Other players on the Blues’ target list are Ajax’s Edson Alvarez, Celta Vigo’s Gabi Veiga and Leeds’ Tyler Adams, who is said to have a cheap relegation release clause.

Chelsea are determine to welcome a new midfielder at Stamford Bridge before this summer transfer window closes.

This comes added they lost the likes of Mason Mount to Man Utd, Mateo Kovacic to Man City, and N’Golo Kante to Saudi League.

The Blue’s top target remain Caicedo, but so far they have yet to meet Brighton’s asking price for the midfielder.
