Chelsea completes moves for new striker ahead of January transfer window

Barely less than four days to the start of the January transfer window, Chelsea have reached an agreement on a deal with Molde FK for the transfer of David Datro Fofana.

The west London side made the transfer public on Wednesday.

Chelsea manager Graham Potter has been looking to add a new forward to his attacking ranks with a shortage of forward options available to him.

This is coming as Armando Broja will be on the sidelines for a long time after being stretchered off during a friendly match against Aston Villa in Abu Dhabi.

Fofana will join the club on January 1 for a reported fee of £10.93m.

The youngster made his debut for Ivory Coast in a 4-0 friendly win against Burundi in November.

He has scored 15 goals and created five assists in 24 matches for Molde. He also scored four goals in 10 appearances in the Europa League conference qualifiers and main tournament this campaign.
