Chief Executive and Deputy Chairman at Brighton & Hove Albion FC, Paul Barber in a recent statement has lauded Chelsea’s new owner, Todd Boehly.

Barber said he was impressed by the Blues owner, adding that he is tough and respectful during the negotiations over Marc Cucurella’s £62million move to Stamford Bridge

“Todd Boehly was very respectful and tough… he negotiated very hard!” he said on talkSPORT.

“Todd’s very successful and even though this is a new area for him he did not make it easy for us.”

Chelsea would go on to complete the signing of Cucurella from Brighton in a deal worth in excess of £60m this summer.

The defender signed a six-year deal with the Blues and was registered in time to make his debut against Everton on the first Saturday night of the season.

He has since been impressive in other Chelsea matches this season forming a defence with other players at the back
