Chelsea could soon welcome their third signing of the summer in the person of Jules Kounde from Sevilla.

This comes as the west London side have agreed to a £55 million deal with Sevilla to sign the French defender.

A report via The Sun reveals Chelsea have now agreed to pay £51million, plus £4million in add-ons to bring Kounde to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues had already signed Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly from Manchester City and Napoli, respectively.

This is not the first time Kounde would be on Chelsea’s target list as they made moves for him last year, but pulled out in the closing stages of the summer transfer window last summer after Sevilla raised their asking price.

The report added that Kounde has already reached a personal agreement with the Blues and is due to undergo a medical within the next 48 hours.

In another report, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel during a press conference on Tuesday urged the Chelsea board to strengthen the squad this summer.

“I think we need a couple more players in, to improve the squad,” Tuchel said.
