Barely hours to the end of the January transfer window, Chelsea are still in the race to wrap up some deals including that of Benfica star Enzo Fernandez.

A report via the Times revealed the Blues are close to getting a deal done before the window closes.

Chelsea are expected to set a new transfer record if they sign the Argentina World Cup winner.

Recall that the Blues were linked with a move for Fernandez at the start of the transfer window, but talks broke down midway as Benfica stated that he was not for sale.

However, despite Benfica’s stance, the West London side revived their interest in the 22-year-old over the weekend with Todd Boehly getting personally involved in talks.

Chelsea revealed their readiness to splash more than £100million to bring the midfielder to Stamford Bridge before the January transfer window shuts on Tuesday night.

The report claims Chelsea are set to pay around £115m, which could make Benfica have a change of heart.
