Thomas Tuchel might have been appointed as the new Chelsea boss just days after Frank Lampard was sacked but the former Borussia Dortmund manager was worried before putting pen to paper.

Chelsea have become popular for sacking managers and it wasn’t surprising when club legend Frank Lampard was dismissed after some poor run of form.

His successor, Thomas Tuchel have been putting in some good work ever since he was appointed but the German tactician was worried of the contract Chelsea offered him.

Thomas Tuchel was employed on a short-term deal as the blues were making it easier to sack him by only handing him a 12-month contract.

Though the German has the option of an extension, Tuchel admitted that it affected him because everything affects him but in a very positive way.

The former Paris Saint-Germain manager noted that he was worried about that in the beginning it was all done in 72 hours so he didn’t like it at first and then it was like ‘They don’t trust me? What is this? 18 months?’.

Tuchel revealed the thoughts that went through his mind, which includes leaving his country and family as well as Chelsea are so many points behind place number four.

He noted that Chelsea’s position in the league also makes it easy for the board to sack him, however, after some minutes he thought about it and decided to take a shot at it.

Chelsea have been impressive under Thomas Tuchel as they’ve close the gap on fourth place and have another shot at european football next season.
