Since his controversial interview with Sky Italia about wanting to leave Stamford Bridge and return to the Italian side Inter Milan, Belgium international Romelu Lukaku has struggled to be impressive for the Blues.

Since then, Lukaku, who Chelsea signed in the summer, has not scored a single goal, and it appears his signing could be another wasteful signing for the Blues.

However, the Blues, in a latest report, have been backed to lose money on the under-performing Belgian striker.

That is according to former West Ham man Paolo di Canio, who suggested that the Blues will struggle to recoup the huge fee that they paid Inter Milan for his services.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia: “Chelsea paid more than €100m to sign Lukaku and must recover him. Right now, it’s difficult to imagine somebody paying €100m to sign him. However, nothing is preventing him from succeeding again in the future.”

In another report, Chelsea will not return to action until the first week in February when they will be playing in the FA Cup tournament.

Chelsea are currently seated at the third spot on the league table with 10 points behind league toppers Man City.
