Chelsea, Ajax close to reaching compromise for defender

Chelsea have continued to be linked with moves for Jorell Hato from Ajax in the summer transfer window.

A recent report via The Athletic has provided a new update about Hato’s imminent transfer to Chelsea.

The report suggested that the Blues and the Dutch side could soon reach a ‘compromise’ over a fee for the defender, who considered one of the top versatile defenders in Europe at the moment.

There are speculations that Chelsea will make an offer in excess of £35m for the defender who has made 111 appearances for Ajax, scoring four goals and creating nine assists.

Ajax have an edge of getting more from the deal especially as the defender penned a five-year contract last summer.

The Dutch club are also aware that Hato is eager to move to a big club like Chelsea, taking his career to another height.

Chelsea have already reached personal agreement with Hato, and all that is left is for the Blues to pay Ajax asking price.

Hato was dropped from Ajax’s most recent pre-season match, further hinting at his move away from the club and the completion of a transfer to Chelsea.
