Former Chelsea star Pat Nevin has sent a message to the Blues against selling defender Levi Colwill in the ongoing summer transfer window.

With the Blues having sold many of their key players this summer, Colwill may be the next on the transfer list.

However, Nevin in his statement believes Chelsea need to keep Colwill, especially as the West London club are yet to sign a replacement for Antonio Rudiger, who left Stamford Bridge for La Liga side Real Madrid last year.

“I would be really surprised if Levi Colwill left Chelsea, though,” Nevin told OLBG.

“I think Chelsea really need him, as they never quite replaced Rudiger. He is still a young player, though, as centre-backs like him and Badiashile will not be fully ready until they are 24 or 25 years old.”

Meanwhile, Colwill was away from Chelsea last season on loan at Brighton.
