Former Arsenal star, Paul Merson, has sent a message to Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly as he advised the American billionaire to give Graham Potter more time at Stamford Bridge amid calls for the Englishman’s sack.

Merson went on to claim that Potter doesn’t want Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang any more at the club.

Potter, who arrived at Chelsea in September 2022, as a replacement for sacked manager Thomas Tuchel, has come under intense pressure at Stamford Bridge over the Blues’ poor form recently.

So far the Blues have won only one of their last ten matches across all competitions and are currently in tenth position on the Premier League table.

“That is what happened with Aubameyang. Potter did not want him, but if he is now sacked and someone else comes in, they will go, ‘Well, I don’t want that centre-half or that centre-half.’ Then it is like you are going around in circles again.

“That is why Potter has got to be given more time, in my opinion,” Merson told Sky Sports.

Aubameyang has struggled to impress at Chelsea after he joined them from Barcelona in the summer.
