The Blues will return action on Wednesday night when they play Aston Villa in the 3rd round of the Carabao League.

Ahead of the match, the Blues manager, Thomas Tuchel, has given his side injury update as he revealed that American International Christian Pulisic will be unavailable for the match.

Tuchel in his statement said the game will come too soon for the American football star who is recovering from an ankle problem.

Recall that 23-year-old Pulisic sustain the injury while on international duty for the USA during their 4-1 win over Honduras.

Although, he has since return to Stamford Bridge, Pulisic missed Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League and the weekend 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League.

Tuchel said: “I think for Christian the game against Villa is maybe a bit too close. I hope I’m wrong but this is my impression.”

He revealed that the American International didn’t train with the rest of the team and its uncertain if he would be available to play vs Aston Villa.
