Carabao finals: Chelsea star blasted for losing chances

Former Newcastle United star Alan Shearer has slammed Chelsea attacker Noni Madueke for his performance during their Carabao Cup final 1-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday evening.

According to Shearer, Madueke wasted three good opportunities against the Reds during the match.

Recall that Virgil van Dijk headed in a corner from Kostas Tsimikas in the 118th minute to hand the Carabao Cup to Jurgen Klopp’s side over Chelsea at Wembley.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Shearer said: “Madueke has had three really good opportunities and he has wasted all of them.

“He did exactly what Liverpool wanted him to do there.”

Recall that Madueke was among the players who joined Chelsea in 2023. He moved to Stamford Bridge from PSV.

Meanwhile, like many of the Blues recent signings, he has also failed to impress at Stamford Bridge.
