Carabao Cup final: Chelsea suffer injury blow ahead of clash vs Liverpool

Chelsea will be going head to head against Liverpool in the final of the Carabao League next week.

However, ahead of the match, the Blues have suffered an injury blow as their key player Mason Mount has sustained an injury.

The report revealed that Mount sustained an ankle issue during the early stages of the Club World Cup final victory over Palmeiras last weekend in Abu Dhabi.

Mount was replaced after just half an hour into the match.

The recent has now revealed that Mount, who scored seven goals and has created eight assists this season, is now set for at least two weeks on the sidelines.

With this latest development, Mount will miss the Blues’ trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday and their return to the Champions League when Lille visit Stamford Bridge next week for their last-16 clash.

Chelsea are scheduled to face Liverpool on the 27th of this month to win the Carabao League.

The Blues have already won the FIFA club world cup this season and would like to add the Carabao Cup to their collection.
