Chelsea American owner Todd Boehly has fired Jason Griffin after spending 30 years at Stamford Bridge.

Aside from Griffin, Boehly also sacked his assistant and son, Reisse.

Griffin since 2003, led a team of more than 10 people, including his son, who were in charge of maintaining the pitches at Stamford Bridge, the Cobham training ground and Kingsmeadow, respectively the homes of the Blues’ women’s and youth teams.

The report via the Daily Mail revealed Chelsea will not comment on their departures.

But it appears to be part of a wider overhaul of staff that is being pushed by Boehly since his takeover last summer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea like other European clubs are on international break which have seen many of their players leave for their home countries to participate in international games.

Other players who didn’t get international calls remain at Stamford Bridge to continue their trainings.
