Spanish side Barcelona have reportedly gotten to an advanced stage in their bid to sign Chelsea star Marcos Alonso in the summer transfer window.

Alonso has been a key player for the Blues this season, especially owing to the absence of a Ben Chilwell who has been out of the team because of a long-term knee injury.

The left wing-back has made a total of 44 appearances in all competitions this season for Chelsea.

However, there are claims the defender whose contract is due to expire in 2023, desires a move to Spain.

Popular football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, said the discussions regarding personal terms are “well advanced” with a move now seeming more likely to happen than not.

Romano added that the Blues are yet to decide on a fee for Alonso if they don’t want to lose him for free next season.

Owing to the sanction on the Blues, they can not confirm the sale of any of their players until Todd Boehly has formally completed a takeover.

Aside from Alonso, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger have been linked with moves away from Chelsea.
