Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has voiced his displeasure at the Virtual Assistant Referee (VAR) after their draw at Aston Villa on Saturday.

The home side took the lead, scoring two goals in the first half against Chelsea.

However, the Blues bounce back in the second half to score equalisers.

Chelsea were close to winning all three points against Aston Villa as Axel Disasi thought he had headed in the winner, only for the VAR to intervene and the goal was ruled out.

The outcome of the match means the Blues remain at the 9th spot with 48 points on the league table.

In a post-match statement, Pochettino who was hurt by the VAR and referee decision to disallow Disasi’s goal said it (VAR) has damaged English football.

The Blues manager believe the disallowed goal was not a four but a challenge which was expected in every game.

According to Pochettino, if such challenge are ruled out as foul in every game then most team would be unable to finish with a 11-man squad.

“We can talk about the performance or the decision – it is damaging the game,” Pochettino said in a post-match statement.

Chelsea will now focus on their next game against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.
