Arteta reacts as Chelsea sign former Arsenal striker
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has reacted to Chelsea’s move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang completed a move to Chelsea from Spanish side Barcelona during the summer transfer deadline.
Arteta, who once coached the striker at Arsenal in recent statement wished him well on his future at Stamford Bridge.
Aubameyang was unveiled by Chelsea late on Thursday night after they agreed to a £10.3m deal with the Catalans.
Recall that the Spanish club had signed the 33-year-old in February after his contract at Arsenal was terminated.
Aubameyang during his four years stay at the Emirates, scored 92 goals in 163 games.
Reacting to Aubameyang’s return to the Premier League, Arteta said: “I’m sure he’s made that decision because he wants to change again and find the best possible for his future, and we here wish him the best of luck.”
With Chelsea, Aubameyang finally gets to play in the Uefa Champions League and could make his debut for the Blues in the opening match against Zagreb on Tuesday night.
