Arsenal revive interest in Premier League attacker

Arsenal are supposedly prepared to reignite their interest in Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha this summer.

The Gunner’s quest for the Ivory Coast international in 2019 was well documented, however their reported bid of £40m fell well short of Crystal Palace’s £80m asking price, and Zaha stayed at Selhurst Park regardless of his alleged desire to leave.

Unai Emery’s Arsenal ultimately moved for Nicolas Pepe instead, however the £72m winger has not lived up to expectations in England since arriving from Lille, and Mikel Arteta is supposedly interested to strike a deal for his compatriot.

As indicated by 90Min, Arsenal will hope to try to prise Zaha away from Selhurst Park this summer, however they would need to sell before they can buy, and Crystal Palace are ready to sell the attacker to raise funds.

The report adds that the 28-year-old would like to remain in the English capital, notwithstanding interest from clubs in Ligue 1 and Serie A, however neither Chelsea nor Tottenham Hotspur are planing a move for Zaha this time around.

Zaha’s current contract with the Eagles lapses in 2023, and he has scored 9 goals and 2 assists from 22 Premier League appearances this term.
