Arsenal prepare ambitious £77m move for Athletic Bilbao winger after missing out on Jeremy Monga

Arsenal are reportedly ready to step up their pursuit of Athletic Club winger Nico Williams by preparing a £77 million offer as Mikel Arteta looks to further strengthen his Premier League-winning squad.
Fresh from ending their 22-year wait for the league title and reaching the Champions League final last season, the Gunners are in a strong financial position and are expected to be one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market.
Strengthening the left side of the attack has emerged as a priority this summer. Uncertainty continues to surround the futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, prompting Arsenal to explore options capable of adding more pace, creativity and goals in wide areas.
The North London club had also hoped to secure the signing of highly-rated Leicester City teenager Jeremy Monga. However, Manchester City successfully hijacked the deal, forcing Arsenal to turn their attention towards more established targets.
According to reports, Athletic Club star Nico Williams has now moved to the top of Arsenal’s shortlist. The Spain international has impressed over the past two seasons with his explosive pace, dribbling ability and end product, making him one of Europe’s most sought-after wingers.
Arsenal are said to be preparing an ambitious £77 million bid in an attempt to convince Athletic Club to part with the 23-year-old. Arteta is believed to be a long-time admirer of Williams and sees him as an ideal addition to his attacking options.
While no agreement has yet been reached, Arsenal’s intent underlines their determination to build on last season’s success and assemble a squad capable of competing for major honours both domestically and in Europe.

Ok well we all now know that Trossard agreed his departure last season due to personal circumstances and to protect his value Arsenal agreedan increased his salary.
But lets remember what position Eze was signed for and also how good Martinelli is? If new players are brought in for the left wing it is most likely that Eze and Martinelli might change positions? Odegaard and Lewis-Skelly might also change positions? If a central midfielder is signed then it is likely Norgaard will move on. It seems that Vieira, Nelson and Jesus will be sold if possible. I would like to see more of Dowman, Nwaneri,Salmon and Lewis-Skelly next season. However i am hearing that Nwaneri’s parents want him and the younger brother to leave the club?
