Man Utd manager and Germany international Ralf Rangnick has reacted to the sanctions placed on Chelsea owing to their link with Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

Recall that the UK government on Thursday froze Abramovich’s assets, due to his links to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, after Russia invaded Ukraine earlier this month.

As of now, the Blues are unable to sell any tickets or merchandise and cannot offer new contracts to players, they have also seen their bank accounts frozen as they now operate under a special license.

In his reaction, Rangnick, in a statement with the media on Friday, claimed Arsenal should also be looked at as Russian oligarchs have owned shares in the Gunners and Everton too.

“Not only at Chelsea, [but] also at Arsenal and Everton there were ownership shares by Russian oligarchs.

“This (Chelsea) was not the only club,” he said.

We will have to wait to see if the UK government respond to Rangnick’s claim.
