Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag in a post-match statement has listed the areas his team would have to improve on after their pre-season 2-0 friendly defeat to La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Ten Hag revealed the Red Devils need to improve on pressing and scoring goals as he singled out Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay and Alejandro Garnacho for missing a one-on-one situation.

The Red Devils had opportunities but failed to convert any of their 14 attempts during the encounter to goals.

Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said as quoted by Sky Sports: “There were two things – pressing can be better from the start, and scoring goals.

“I think we need more players who are capable of being in one-on-ones and we had the situations of one-on-ones.

“It was Rashford, it was, I thought, Scott McTominay in one-on-one situations. Garnacho, a one-on-one situation. From these situations, you have to score.”
