A report has revealed that former Chelsea manager Graham Potter will receive about £13million in compensation after his sack at Chelsea on Sunday.

This means the club co-owner Todd Boehly has now spent over £50m on managerial costs in the last nine months.

Recall that the Blues paid a Premier League record of £22m to Brighton to bring Potter and his staff to Stamford Bridge in September, after giving Thomas Tuchel a pay-off of £10m.

Potter has earned around £7m in salary during his brief spell in charge.

The latest development will increase the need for a quickfire sale of squad members this summer, in order to comply with the Premier League’s spending rules.

Last week, the west London side published losses of £121m for the 2021/22 season.

That figure did not include the £550m spent on new players since the summer.
