Arsenal are close to welcoming two new players to their squad as the reports revealed they have planned medicals for both Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are confident of wrapping up transfers for the two by the end of the week.

The North London side have agreed to pay £105 million fee to West Ham for Rice after their previous bids were rejected.

Arsenal, who would be playing in the Champions League next season have also struck a deal with Ajax to sign Timber for around £40m.

With the two transfers now in the final phase, the Gunners have now scheduled medicals for both Rice and Timber.

Rice’s transfer is close to “95 per cent completion” as talks on the structure of payments continue, and both clubs are expected to reach a compromise soon.

The Gunners had hoped to pay the £100m fixed part of the fee over four years in several instalments but West Ham wants it paid by the start of 2025.
