Again, Chelsea offer new contract to this defender

The latest report via SportMail claim Chelsea have once again offered a new contract to their defender and Germany international Antonio Rudiger.

This comes after the Blues informally offered the defender a new deal worth closer to the £200,000-per-week last week, which he reportedly rejected.

A bid even closer to that £200,00-per-week demand has now been offered to the 28-year-old defender and his representatives, with the club desperate not to lose too many defenders on free transfers this summer.

The reports claim that the Spanish side Real Madrid and French club Paris Saint-Germain have offered Rudiger pre-contracts ahead of the summer transfer window.

Rudiger believes he can earn as much as £400,000-per-week, including signing on fees and bonuses, if he leaves Chelsea on a free transfer.

Aside from Rudiger, Chelsea are also close to losing Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azplicueta for free this summer, with the two defenders already linked with moves to Spanish club Barcelona.

We will have to wait till the summer to know how all of these would end.
