After defeat to Liverpool, Ten Hag advised against taking over at Man Utd

Former football star Mickey Gray has advised Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag against moving to Old Trafford in the summer.

Gray, who played for Sunderland, made this known after the Red Devils suffered a devastating defeat to Liverpool on Tuesday night.

Liverpool won the match by four goals with goals from Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Luis Diaz.

The latest loss to the Reds further raised doubts about Man Utd’s chances of finishing in the top four, and Gray feels that this was not the right moment for Ten Hag to move to Old Trafford.

Gray has now advised Ten Hag against joining the Red Devils.

“Once upon a time this [Liverpool vs Manchester United] used to be the biggest battle in the Premier League,” he said on talkSPORT.

“Now, there is a gulf and a gap between the two teams like I’ve never seen before.

“Things you can say about Manchester United at the end of this game – no fight, heartless, where’s the desire? Full of quitters.

“Stay away, Erik Ten Hag. You do not want to come to this club at the moment with the squad of players they have right now.”
