Chelsea may lose a midfielder in the person of Billy Gilmour in the ongoing summer transfer window.

This comes as a report via Evening Standard News claimed Gilmour has told Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly that he wants to leave for another club this summer.

The 21-year-old is willing to seek more game time elsewhere.

According to Evening Standard Brighton have confirmed interest to sign the 21-year-old midfielder on a permanent deal.

Gilmour, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Rangers in 2017 and has made a total of 22 senior appearances for the Stamford Bridge club.

The midfielder was at Norwich City on a loan deal last season.

However, his time at Norwich was unsuccessful as they were relegated to the Championship.

As of now, he has two years left on his current deal with Chelsea.

And it looks like the Scotland international is not in Chelsea’s plan for the new season as he has not been given a shirt number.

Gilmour’s links away from Chelsea come after Callum Hudson-Odoi had also reportedly told Boehly he wanted to leave the club.
