Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has seemingly addressed critics of the club’s move for former Chelsea player Noni Madueke in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners on Friday unvieled Madueke has their latest signing as Arteta described him as one of the most talented forwards in the English Premier League.

Arteta made this known while speaking to the club’s official website, after Madueke’s deal was announced on Friday.

The 23-year-old Englishman arrived at Emirates Stadium from Chelsea in a deal that could cost Arsenal up to £52 million.

Recall that report about Madueke’s imminent transfer to Arsenal had led to outrage among fans, with many criticising Arteta for what they consider a wrong deal.

But Arteta has now hailed the qualities of their new signing.

“Noni Madueke is one of the most talented wide forward players in the Premier League,” Arteta said.

“At just 23, Noni brings experience of club and international football. Having seen the quality of Noni’s performances up close, we’re really excited.”

Madueke failed to impress at Chelsea but could be lucky to find success at Arsenal.

However, he is likely to face limited game time under Arteta as the Gunners have players who can play in his role.
