Premier League side Arsenal are still active in the transfer window as the new season commences in the next few days.

Having completed the deal of Ben White from Brighton and Hove, Arsenal are still searching for a creative midfielder with Real Madrid attacker Martin Odegaard their preferred candidate.

Odegaard spent the second half of the 2020-21 campaign on loan with the Gunners and impressed with his performance.

The Norway international scored two goals and providing two assists in 20 appearances in all competitions.

Though Arsenal are willing to have him back in their squad, there are reports that this might not be feasible with new Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, a fan of Odegaard.

Arsenal have now shift their focus to Leicester City’s James Maddison and Lyon’s Houssem Aouar.

However, latest report from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, has revealed that Arsenal’s main attacking target is still Odegaard.

Romano claimed Arsenal are hopeful of having the chance to re-sign him in the coming weeks and the deal will be a permanent one.

Odegaard deal with Real Madrid will be coming to an end in 2023 and Arsenal believes they can convince the Spanish giant into selling the youngster.
