Reports: Arsenal given Spanish giant their final response over swap deal for their players
Barcelona are reportedly willing to do business with Arsenal this summer as they want Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Camp Nou with Philippe Coutinho moving the other side.
Arsenal are looking for a attacking midfielder and have identified Coutinho as a player that will solve that issue.
However, a swap deal involving Coutinho and Aubameyang may not be happening this summer as Arsenal reportedly gave their response on the deal.
According to sport, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have told Barcelona that they cannot pay Philippe Coutinho’s salary in full.
Coutinho reportedly earns €470,960 (£403,108) per week as salary and Arsenal are not willing to pay such fee for a player.
The Brazilian midfielder has failed to live up to expectations at Barcelona despite the good form he had at Liverpool before leaving for greener pasture.
Instead of signing Coutinho on a loan deal, Arsenal are now willing to channel all the energy towards completing a deal for Martin Odegaard.
Martin Odegaard has agreed to join Arsenal and the deal will be completed in a matter of days, according to report, the Real Madrid star will be signed for an initial transfer fee of £30 million.
