One year after and Arsenal are still struggling under Arteta; Time to go?

Arsenal faced a tough challenge over the weekend after a home defeat to Wolves which ended in a 1-2 scoreline.

The North London club currently sits at the 14th spot on the league table after five losses in 10 matches.

There have been calls for coach Mikel Arteta sack over the poor performance.

Arteta in a post-match interview said; it’s something that the day I decided to be a coach I knew that one day I would be sacked or leave the football club.

The loss to Wolves coincides with a year when Arsenal sacked Unai Emery as a coach on the 29th of November 2020.

Despite the change in terms of the manager, the Gunners are still struggling with their performance and have not been spectacular since the departure of Arsene Wenger as coach.

While Arteta has been able to do so much in terms of getting a Europa League qualification by winning the FA Cup, and a well-deserving triumph against the likes of  Manchester Utd and Chelsea, the North London club are still finding it hard to move forward when it comes to attacking.

Imagine a world-class player like Aubameyang has only two league goals to his name this season.

During the match against Wolves, Aubameyang touched the ball only eight times in the first half and three of those were from kick-offs, in the second half, he got two opportunities which he didn’t utilize well.

Going forward, Arteta will have to work on his attack as Arsenal style of scoring is simple.
