Former Arsenal defender, Gael Clichy, is not happy with the way things are at the club as he slammed the North London side and manager, Mikel Arteta for lacking ambition amid the Premier League title race.

The former French player opined that the North London club have lost their identity built under former manager Arsene Wenger.

He stressed that the Gunners under Arteta are now more defensive and focus on set pieces rather than creating goals from open play.

Clichy cited the Gunners’ game against Liverpool as a case study, stating that Arsenal was not concerned about winning but excited not to lose a game.

“This’s very subtle but this’s a massive difference for a team that is competing for the title. So hopefully this will change with the players they have now,” he added.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are seated at the third spot on the league table, with Chelsea and Liverpool at the the 2nd and 1st spots.

The Gunners will return to action this weekend when they play against Nottingham Forest in their first game after the first international break.
