Medical done: Arsenal set to make announcement on this new player

Barely a few days to the end of the January transfer window, the reports have revealed that Arsenal could be welcoming a new player in the person of Martin Odegaard.

Odegaard has been on the Gunners radar for weeks and it looks like his arrival is imminent at Emirate stadium.

According to the reports, the Real Madrid player has completed his medicals at Arsenal and is expected to join Arsenal for the rest of the season on loan.

The reports also revealed that there is no clause in the deal for Arsenal to sign him permanently in the summer.

However, if the Gunners announce the signing in the coming days, they wouldn’t be able to register him unless they sell or remove a non-home grown player that was named in their 25-man Premier League squad.

At the moment, there’s no non-homegrown slot available. Even the departure of Mesut Ozil didn’t create a vacant spot as the German wasn’t named in the Gunners squad before his move to Fenerbahce.

We have to wait to see how Mikel Arteta and his crew will work things out.

Arsenal is in need of a creative midfielder to be taken as a serious contender this season and Odegaard could be the man for them.
