Former Arsenal forward Roberto Pires has shared his opinion on the current form of Nicolas Pepe who joined the club on an expensive deal from Lille some months ago.

Pepe arrived in Arsenal as one of the best youngsters in Europe but he has not been able to replicate the form that saw the Premier League team spend big on him.

With the Ivory Coast international not looking like a player that will be hitting his best form in the next few months, Robert Pires stated his playing style is simply not cut out for English football.

According to the Arsenal legend who showed his class for the gunners between 2000 and 2006 while speaking with the Sun stated that his game doesn’t suit the intensity and demands of the Premier League.

Pires stated that Pepe wasn’t used to it and it has been complicated for him to change his mentality, to adapt to a new way of training and to settle in a tough league.

Though Pepe has been a regular under Mikel Arteta during the 2020-21 campaign, making 24 appearances in all competitions, he has scored just six goals and three assists.

He was among the scorer during Arsenal’s 3-1 win at Southampton on Tuesday night and he will be eager to add more to his game.
