Luiz considering game time elsewhere as future is no longer certain at Arsenal

The representatives of Brazil star and Arsenal defender David Luiz are reported to be in search of a new club for him as his future at Emirate Stadium is no longer certain.

Luiz who joined Arsenal from Chelsea has a contract with the Gunners that will lapse at the end of this season.

So far there are no indications that the Gunners will extend his contract.

With Konstantinos Mavropanos and William Saliba expected to return from loan spells this summer, Mikel Arteta may have to cut down his defensive ranks in order to create room for them. This will involve letting go of Luiz.

According to CBS Sports, Luiz’s representatives are already planning for his potential exit, and Serie A giants Lazio are being linked with a move.

The report added that a stint in the MLS has also been mooted, but Luiz’s extortionate salary of £100k per week could prove problematic in that scenario.

In another report, Arsenal will return to action in the Uefa Europa League on Thursday when they take on Villarreal in the second leg of the tournament.

Arsenal will hope for a turnaround against Villarreal as they were defeated in the first leg in a 2-1 scoreline.
