Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette in a recent statement has admitted that it is “never easy” to remain on the bench without playing.

Lacazette, however, disclosed that he is determined to get regular playing chances in Mikel Arteta’s starting squad.

So far this season, the 30-year-old has seen his once regular playing chances reduce to just one in the Gunners’ 10 matches across all competitions.

The only time he started for Arsenal was in the EFL Cup against AFC Wimbledon.

However, Lacazette was recently in action for the Gunners when he came in from the bench and scored a dramatic equaliser to rescue a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on Monday night at Emirate stadium.

Following his recent goal, Lacazette is keen to play more for Arsenal and has stressed that he will continue to work hard in training to try and impress Arteta.

“Of course, it’s never easy to be on the bench. You always want to play and bring something to the team. This is what I tried to do,” Lacazette told the Evening Standard.

“It’s my first time like this. I am just waiting my time, I work every day in training for this kind of moment when I can help the team and obviously today I scored so I’m really happy.”
