Highly-Rated Midfielder Responds to Arsenal Agreement Claims

Arsenal remain interested in highly rated Georgian midfielder Andria Bartishvili, but reports claiming the teenager has already agreed a move to the Emirates Stadium appear to be premature.

The 17-year-old has emerged as one of the most promising young talents in Georgian football and has attracted attention from several clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool. Recent reports suggested that the Gunners had finalised a deal worth around £4.5 million for the midfielder, raising expectations that a transfer was close.

However, Bartishvili has moved to distance himself from those claims. The youngster recently shared a social media post from a Georgian journalist who stated that, while discussions between the parties are ongoing, no agreement has been reached at this stage.

Bartishvili is currently on loan at Georgian side Iberia 1999 from Kolkheti Poti and has continued to impress with his performances. Despite his young age, he has already accumulated 35 senior appearances and has contributed two goals and two assists since joining Iberia for the 2026 campaign.

Even if a deal is eventually agreed, any move to England would not happen immediately. Bartishvili’s current loan spell runs until the end of the year, and regulations prevent him from joining an English club until he turns 18 in March 2027.

As a result, Arsenal’s interest remains at an exploratory stage rather than a completed transfer. While the North London club continue to monitor the talented midfielder’s progress closely, reports suggesting a deal has already been finalised appear to be inaccurate for now.
